Quadcopter Circuit

I'm using 3 ATmega328P processors for the prototype circuitry. The first is used to communicate with the R/C receiver and filter the results. The second is used to communicate and process the sensor data from the accelerometers, gyros, and compass. Those talk to the main processor over TWI which combines the receiver and sensor data to control the motors. The main processor also sends out telemetry data using an XBee serial connection as well as monitor the battery voltage.

  2. The best thing about building your own drone, beside the fact you can customize it the way you want, is the fact that you can make it a sbig as you want! :) Personally, this is the main reason why I got into this hobby, to make big drones that are capable of lifting serious filming equipment. But, if you are not that skilled with electronics and calculations, don't worry, the RTF models are not limited only to small and midsized drones, you can also buy big drones that are RTF. If you are interested in finding out which models I am talking about, just check out this article I found on the Internet: http://mydronelab.com/best-pick/large-quadcopters.html
